Winning Crown Boutique Helps Win Miss America Award
Nebraska is still celebrating Miss Nebraska Teresa Scanlan’s selection as Miss America. Everyone knows that this is the first time a candidate representing Nebraska has won the famous competition. And everyone knows that Miss Nebraska is a 17-year-old blond beauty from Gering in the Nebraska panhandle.
But what people don’t know is that Miss Nebraska was mentored by Omaha’s own Winning Crown Boutique, located in Rockbrook Village® Shopping Center at 108th and Center.
The Winning Crown Boutique is owned by Mrs. Nebraska 2007. Winning Crown Boutique is also Nebraska’s premier special occasion dress boutique, focusing on a timeless look for any event. Winning Crown offers prom, pageantry, gala, casual and ball gowns. And women who are shopping for a special event will also find accessories, makeup and hairstyling for any event.
During the six months leading up to the Miss America competition, the Winning Crown Boutique worked with Miss America Teresa Scanlan to develop her wardrobe for the competition and to teach makeup lessons for each of the various outfits.
The Winning Crown Boutique also worked with Ms. Scanlan as she prepared to win the title of Miss Nebraska 2010 in June 2010, by helping her choose her evening gown and talent dress.
Here’s what Winning Crown Boutique accomplished for Teresa Scanlan:
- The Winning Crown Boutique designed Miss Nebraska Teresa Scanlan’s custom evening gown worn in the Miss America 2011 competition. The custom gown began from inspiration from wardrobe stylist Michele Strom, owner of the Winning Crown Boutique. The sketch of the dress was drawn by Tiffany Headley of the Winning Crown Boutique and then created by Sherri Hill.
- The white chiffon gown had over 2,000 crystals, beads and pearls in a unique artistic design placed on nude netting. This one of a kind gown was made to fit Ms. Scanlan to her measurements.
- The Winning Crown Boutique also helped to provide custom jewelry by Stefanie Summers for all her competition wardrobe and to choose dresses worn at Miss America for the various events during the competition.
- Makeup artist Michele Strom was at the Miss America pageant to do Ms. Scanlan’s makeup for personal interview and all preliminary competitions.
